Dolphin Emulator – Open-Source GameCube & Wii Emulator

Dolphin Emulator

Overview

Dolphin is a free, open-source emulator for the Nintendo GameCube and Wii, available for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. It is widely regarded as one of the most technically accomplished emulators ever developed, offering near-complete compatibility with both GameCube and Wii libraries alongside significant graphical enhancements and quality-of-life features.

Key Features

  • High compatibility with the GameCube and Wii game libraries
  • Internal resolution upscaling up to 4K and beyond
  • Widescreen support and anti-aliasing
  • Save state support
  • GameCube controller adapter support (including official Nintendo adapter)
  • Wii Remote emulation and real Wii Remote support via Bluetooth
  • Netplay for online multiplayer on supported titles
  • Active development with frequent releases
  • Available for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android

Compatibility

Dolphin has one of the highest compatibility rates of any console emulator. The vast majority of the GameCube and Wii libraries run at full speed on modern hardware. A community-maintained compatibility database documents per-game status and known issues. GameCube BIOS is optional but recommended for full accuracy.

System Requirements

Dolphin runs on most modern PCs and Android devices. Higher resolutions and enhancements require a capable CPU and GPU. Refer to the official Dolphin documentation for current recommended specifications.
