Visual Inspection First
Look at the vents, ports, and seams. Dust packed into vents is a sign of poor storage. Yellowing plastic indicates UV exposure. Deep gouges or cracked casings suggest rough handling.
Check Every Port
Plug something into every port — AV, power, controller, memory card. Loose, corroded, or damaged ports are expensive to repair and indicate heavy use or poor care.
Listen When It Boots

Ask for a Demo
Any honest seller should let the console run for at least 15–20 minutes. Overheating issues often only appear after sustained use.
Look at the Screws
Stripped or missing screws indicate the console has been opened — sometimes for legitimate repairs, sometimes not. Ask why.
